There’s an old saying, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at at time.”
I often feel like I’m not making any progress on anything, writing wise or arts & crafts wise. Especially when the kids’ schedules get shifted around or there are a lot of appointments to keep up with. And this time of year is full of twists and turns. Acorn is out of school and back at his former daycare, but starting summer school 3 mornings a week after the holiday. Leaf has started going to daycare with her nurse a couple days a week in hopes that she’ll be comfortable there when her trach is removed and nursing ends (hopefully this week!!). Her therapy schedule is being decreased, Acorn’s swimming lessons changed nights…and my computer decided it was time for a vacation about 2 weeks ago, leaving me without a decent keyboard for over a week while I sent it in for warranty repairs.
And yet, the little steps I take in my writing time scraped together here and there are slowly adding up to big things.
Like, you know, a whole book.
There’s still editing to be done, and some things to be added and re-written. But it is all coming along, and I’m hoping to have it available by the end of the summer. I think I’m going to throw a party when it’s finally really available for sale – this is really exciting for me.
Other big things are on the horizon too – the second installment of my Sage Woman column, “Mama Bear: Motherhood for the Strong of Heart” will be out in the next issue, which should be shipping this summer as well. And I’m exploring how to bring families who want to build Pagan traditions for their household together into an online community.
For now, enjoy the cover (artwork/layout done by my very talented friend, Angelique Mroczka of ebookaviatrix.com), and I’ll have updates soon!
